It was built by Nova FM - Partridge (Australia) in Granville, New South Wales, Australia on 5 August 2011.The trebuchet was of a whip or chain type and utilised a 20 metric tonnes (22.05 Imperial tons) counterweight to propel the VW Beetle. It measured 10 m (32 ft 9.7 in) high and took over 3 days to construct. The record was broken as part of a promotion for the independent MP Bob Katter and to support the ethanol industries in northern Queensland.

The construction, which was unveiled at the APEC Investment Mart Thailand in Bangkok in October 2003, took the form of a traditional Thai house and was commissioned by the Thai Printing Association, the Thai Packaging Association, the Thai Printing Club and the Thai Corrugated Box and Paper Board Manufacturers Association. It was manufactured by Kwang Hua Industries.Only corrugated paper was used in this structure - no other materials such as wood or steel were used for support (see attached diagrams for further details).

It was first proposed to be the result of a meteorite impact in 1891 but was believed to be of volcanic origin by many geologists until US geologist Eugene Shoemaker compared the crater's anatomy with that of craters produced by nuclear weapons testing in Nevada in 1963. Geologists now believe the iron meteorite that produced it, some 49,000 years ago, exploded with a force equivalent to 2.5 megatons of TNT ­ more than 150 Hiroshima bombs.

5395First use of DNA profiling to clear a criminal suspectRichard BucklandfirstUnited Kingdom, Narborough01 January 1988The world's first DNA-based manhunt took place between 1986 and 1988 in Enderby, Leicestershire, UK, during the investigation of a double rape-murder: Linda Mann (UK) in 1983, and Dawn Ashworth 1986. The prime suspect, a local boy named Richard Buckland (UK), confessed to the second killing, but Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) profiling of the victims revealed that the killer's DNA and Buckland's DNA did not match. Buckland thus became the first suspect cleared using DNA profiling. The actual killer, Colin Pitchfork (UK), who sent another man's blood sample during the testing of 5,000 local men - was finally caught after the falsehood was realised. Pitchfork's DNA matched that of the killer and he was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1988.

Also known as "water on the brain," it is a condition in which there is extra cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) around the brain and spinal cord. A shunt has been inserted beneath her skull to drain the spinal fluid accumulating in her head. There is no known way to prevent or cure hydrocephalus and shunts (first used in 1952) are the primary method of treatment.
