5704Most chest to ground burpees in 24 hoursThis record is for the greatest number of burpees in 24 hours.This record is to be attempted by an individual.The record is to be measured in the number of complete chest to ground burpees. A chest to ground burpee may be regarded as a push up with a vertical jump and must be performed as follows: In the start position the body must be straight, i.e. no bending at the knees or waist. The original position of the feet should be behind a line on the ground, line X, at right angles to the participant. A second line, line Y, should be drawn on the ground parallel to line X and beneath the hips of the competitor. The distance between X and Y must be a minimum of one half of the height of the participant. For example, if he/she measures 1.80 m the distance between X and Y should be 90 cm. The participant must start face down with the chest in contact with the ground, arms extended at right angles to the side of the body. The arms and hand then move into a push up position and lift the chest and torso off the ground. The body is then raised until the arms are straight although they do not need to be locked at the elbow. The feet should then, in one movement, travel to line Y. The competitor should then jump off the ground, with neither hands nor feet touching, and then return to the same position on the ground. The feet are then returned in a single movement to the original position -that is, behind X. The participant must then lay flat on with their chest to the ground and arms spread out to the side before the next repetition. Only completed burpees will be assigned towards the record. If the 24 hours expires before the final burpee is completed, that one will not be included in the final total.

To raise awareness of the theatre’s birthday, as well as thank guests for their loyalty over the years, the venue organised a record attempt for Longest Line of doughnuts.The theatre opted to use Berliners for the record bid - a North German take on the humble doughnut, which is typically made from sweet yeast dough fried in or oil, with a marmalade or jam filling, finished off with an iced top.The Palace offered a raffle of 300 exclusive backstage tickets to the general public to view the world record attempt along with an equipment show designed especially for the anniversary celebration, and an opportunity to tuck into the donuts during a special party buffet which was opened by actress Julia Richter and the theatre’s director Berndt Schmidt.Provided by local bakery Bäckerei Laufer, a total of 6,448 doughnuts were used for the attempt , which were laid out in a line measuring 561.4 m (1841 ft 10 in), which weaved its way around the venue’s huge foyer.Over 320 kg of yeast dough, 150 kg of fruity strawberry jam, 1,000 eggs, 40 kg of creamy sugar frosting and 200 kg of flour, was used to create the record breaking line.videoSpeaking after the attempt, André Puchta, Head of Press for the Friedrichstadt-Palast said: "We are glad having hosted such an event at Friedrichstadt-Palast. 5730Largest Packaged Food Mosaic created by Sharp Middle East and AfricaThe UAE is now home to yet another Guinness World Record title thanks to a recent record-breaking effort by Sharp Middle East & Africa (SMEF) to create the largest packaged food mosaic.Measuring 24.7 m (81 ft) in length and 38.6 m (126 ft) in width, the mosaic was created at Dubai World Trade Center, and consisted of 79,300 packs of food that were put together by 149 employees from Sharp Middle East & Africa.The record-breaking mosaic depicted Sharp’s 90” TV screen – the world’s largest commercially available TV – as a background. Overlaid on the TV screen was a tree in the left-hand corner, with positive and negative ions emanating from it representing Sharp’s latest Plasmacluster Ion (PCI) technology. Designed to suppress the effects of airborne viruses, the technology showcases Sharp’s dedication to develop responsible technology for environment.The record was previously held in Hong Kong, China where a packaged food mosaic measuring 20.7 m (67 ft) in length and 30.9 m (101 ft) in width was created in 2009.Following the completion of the mosaic, Sharp donated all the food packages to the UAE Red Crescent Society as part of a larger corporate social responsibility initiative called ‘Sharp Cares’ that the company actively engages in for the region.“We’re very proud for breaking the Guinness World Record title for the largest packaged food mosaic and to make UAE a holder of a new record.
